report card

Got Ben's report card today. No big surprises...the teacher said he's "exceptionally intelligent" but that he's still emotionally immature. He scored low on "Listens & follows directions", "small muscle, eg. cuts, ties, pencil usage", and "Estimates number" for math. He exceed expectations on "Recognizes letters", "Identifies letter sounds", "Counting to 20" and "Recognizing numerals to 30". (He only needed to count/recognize to 10 to meet expections, and the teacher said he just stopped counting because he got bored...which is about right. He can count and recognize up to 100.) Everything else that he was tested on, he met expectations. The only area I think he should have scored higher in is "Uses descriptive words". I mean, really...this kid is a walking thesaurus at home! :P
