six!

The birthday boy has turned six. He got to eat birthday cake and mini chocolate chips for breakfast. He got to watch AstroBoy and Little Einstein's Birthday Celebration with his dad keeping him company (much better than watching them by himself!). He was well enough to go to a classmate's birthday party.

Unfortunately, he has a case of the itchy hives. I noticed it on his cheeks about an hour after the party, and it's just popped here and there all night long...from head to toe. Poor kiddo. I'm not sure if he's reacting to something at the party, or if perhaps he's allergic to the antibiotic he's taking (will call the pediatrician first thing in the morning). We gave him a dose of children's Zyrtec (no children's Benedryl in the house), but that was 45 minutes ago and those hives are still popping up here and there.
